WELCOME!

Welcome to Burning Bush Barn!

'its just so nice to be in a real place of rest. I feel my shoulders drop in here. Thank you!'

When we are able to be generally open, our hours are 1-4pm Thursdays to Sundays. However we are sometimes closed between major events or exhibitions. If you unsure, do please check before setting out on your journey to visit us!
We also have other things taking place at the Barn from time to time so if you would like to be on our mailing list to find out what we have coming up, email us on bbbarn@gmail.com

This blog is laid out so that general information and regular events are shown on the right hand side, and special events and announcements are shown as blog posts on the left hand side. Please check both to see what we are up to!

Remains......now on at the Barn

As part of Norfolk & Norwich Open Studios, the barn is now open daily 1-5pm until Sunday 10th June.
Inspired by natural stain and erosion the work explores what remains.....

A few visitor comments already-

‘ absolutely beautiful, peace, serenity and inspiration all in one exhibition’.

‘What a delight, while on holiday in the village, simply to drop in to the atmosphere created here: prayerful, spiritual, peaceful.’

‘Intriguing work. Most interesting visit. thank you'

you are welcome to come and enjoy this peaceful space too - and a chance to see inside Wendy's studio too!

Opening soon at the Barn....

We are pleased to announce that the Barn will be opening on 24th May with Remains: a contemplative shewing of ceramic, paper and metal findings.

This will be a shewing of work made by Wendy Shaw. The first couple of days will be the opportunity for quiet, contemplative reflection and we will be open 1-4pm. The shewing will then open out to be part of Norfolk Open Studios from 26th May opening daily 1-5pm until Sunday 10th June

On Sunday 3rd June, 5-6pm Wendy will be offering a tea time talk 'Art making- a spiritual practice'. All welcome and no need to book.

Rearranged Singing workshop!!!

Singing workshop 10am - 3pm - Sunday 17th June

You may remember that our spring singing workshop had to get cancelled because of the very snowy weather!
We have now been able to rearrange this for a Sunday in June.

Clare will be teaching us new songs on this day, so don't worry if you haven't been to any of our other singing sessions before.
We will provide drinks and biscuits but lunch will be on a bring and share basis. We suggest a donation of £15 to cover the day but would not wish to exclude anyone from attending for financial reasons. We will need a minimum number of people singing to make this day viable so please get in touch to book a place.

International slow art day.....

Thirteen people gathered at Burning Bush Barn to look at 5 pieces of art in 50 minutes.

Ten minutes is a considerable time when the average looking time in a gallery is 6-10 seconds.
The quietness and stillness of the beautiful barn enabled an intensity and focus that drew from the depths of the art piece and the viewer .
An excellent time shared.

Slow Art Day 2018.......at the Barn

On 14th April we will be taking part in this international movement. Why not come and join us?

Giving and receiving feedback....

Our recent 'Coffee and Cultivation' session went well. Seven of us shared our work and opened it to creative reflection in the spirit of gentle nourishment intended. Paintings, found objects reformed, experimental kinetic sculpture, weaving, and creative writing - a small chest of treasures in the making. The feedback was constructive and thoughtful, time flew.

We will let you know if and when there's another session.....
