Welcome to Burning Bush Barn!

'its just so nice to be in a real place of rest. I feel my shoulders drop in here. Thank you!'

When we are able to be generally open, our hours are 1-4pm Thursdays to Sundays. However we are sometimes closed between major events or exhibitions. If you unsure, do please check before setting out on your journey to visit us!
We also have other things taking place at the Barn from time to time so if you would like to be on our mailing list to find out what we have coming up, email us on bbbarn@gmail.com

This blog is laid out so that general information and regular events are shown on the right hand side, and special events and announcements are shown as blog posts on the left hand side. Please check both to see what we are up to!

Look what came to breakfast this week!

We never quite know how breakfast will be each week - who will turn up, what they might bring, what conversation might be had.
This week Karen kindly started the discussion by talking about when we get attached to something and how we might feel when we then might need to let it go or see it change - this might be with something we have created ourselves, our relationships with other people or with places.
Karen brought along one of her sculptures - part of the Circle of Renewal which she had created for the One Planet Norwich Event.

If you would like to know what other breakfast dates are planned contact us on bbbarn@gmail.com

Good for the heart!

What an inspirational and uplifting day we had singing with Clare yesterday!
16 of us were lucky enough to join Clare in a joyful day of sharing....songs, laughter, tears, smiles and an amazing feast of wonderful food brought to the community table by all those attending, with a little bit of cello playing thrown in for fun!
It was lovely to welcome  some new faces to the Barn as well as, of course, many regular friends. We were lucky that Dillon (the dog) joined us after lunch and Wendy was able to sing with us later in the afternoon and hear what we had been busy learning!

(We were so busy enjoying ourselves I forgot to take photos! These are some of the songs we sang...

We are very grateful to Clare for guiding us so well and picking such beautiful songs for us.

And as if to confirm what we already knew, I heard a piece on the radio this morning about the health benefits of singing!

Keep in touch..

Now that Open Studios has come to an end the Barn will be closed for general visiting for a short while. We still have events such as breakfast dates, singing and slow stitching workshops coming up....
In the meantime don't forget that you can keep in touch with us and get updates about what's coming up over the next few weeks by getting on our mailing list.
If you have not already 'opted in' to be on our updated list, do get in touch - bbbarn@gmail.com

Remains......now on at the Barn

As part of Norfolk & Norwich Open Studios, the barn is now open daily 1-5pm until Sunday 10th June.
Inspired by natural stain and erosion the work explores what remains.....

A few visitor comments already-

‘ absolutely beautiful, peace, serenity and inspiration all in one exhibition’.

‘What a delight, while on holiday in the village, simply to drop in to the atmosphere created here: prayerful, spiritual, peaceful.’

‘Intriguing work. Most interesting visit. thank you'

you are welcome to come and enjoy this peaceful space too - and a chance to see inside Wendy's studio too!

Opening soon at the Barn....

We are pleased to announce that the Barn will be opening on 24th May with Remains: a contemplative shewing of ceramic, paper and metal findings.

This will be a shewing of work made by Wendy Shaw. The first couple of days will be the opportunity for quiet, contemplative reflection and we will be open 1-4pm. The shewing will then open out to be part of Norfolk Open Studios from 26th May opening daily 1-5pm until Sunday 10th June

On Sunday 3rd June, 5-6pm Wendy will be offering a tea time talk 'Art making- a spiritual practice'. All welcome and no need to book.

Rearranged Singing workshop!!!

Singing workshop 10am - 3pm - Sunday 17th June

You may remember that our spring singing workshop had to get cancelled because of the very snowy weather!
We have now been able to rearrange this for a Sunday in June.

Clare will be teaching us new songs on this day, so don't worry if you haven't been to any of our other singing sessions before.
We will provide drinks and biscuits but lunch will be on a bring and share basis. We suggest a donation of £15 to cover the day but would not wish to exclude anyone from attending for financial reasons. We will need a minimum number of people singing to make this day viable so please get in touch to book a place.
